Personality: Deryn is a regular teenager who was raised in the wizarding world. Her attention span is short, yet she gets extremely passionate about whatever she’s into at the moment. She’s determined and strong, yet even with friends she tends to do her own thing. She’s artistic and smart, but doesn’t put her talents in only one field; she’s testing the waters on what she might want to do in life after school.

History: Deryn’s family has always been affiliated with the Order of the Phoenix in one way or another, to the point where both kids were named after elite, famous members. Deryn and her brother George were taught to respect and work alongside Muggles and Muggleborns, and to help keep the community in peace. Maybe it was because of this philosophy that Deryn’s homelife was always peaceful, outside of the typical brother-sister dynamic. She loves and respects her mother, but she’s far closer to her father, even though he’s constantly traveling for his job with the Ministry. Since her parents are mostly out of the house, she and her brother have learned to tend for themselves, and of course having charmed household items helps. Deryn spends more of her time with friends, in libraries, or just alone somewhere to herself.
