It was breakfast time at Aurora as Riley skipped into the Great Hall in an effervescent mood as always. The third year was never without a smile and today was no different. She'd looked around the Roane girl's dorm and the common room for her friend, Constance, but hadn't located her. Finally, she'd given up and headed to breakfast without her, no telling where she'd been or if Riley had simply been running late herself this morning. Besides, breakfast was the most important meal of the day! Classes were going well, at least for the most part. There were a few that seemed particularly hard, but it just meant that she needed to try harder.
She plopped herself down at one of the empty tables, looking around, but of the students there - none were who she was looking for. She chewed her lip a moment before shrugging and delving into the mounds of food in front of her. Eggs, bacon, cereal, sausage (several types), honey buns, cinnamon rolls...Pretty much anything that you could ask for in the way of breakfast foods and of course an assortment of juices to wash it all down with. Riley helped herself to a gigantic cinnamon roll and apple juice as she waited to any of the few friends she had to make their way to breakfast. Perhaps she was always just too anxious to start the day since she loved going to classes. As usual she was looking forward to Herbology the most even though Professor Hawthorne wasn't the warmest person to talk to. Of course the woman's attitude did nothing to deter Riley from her love of plants and flowers. If anything she probably fueled it.
So Riley sat at munched on the cinnamon roll, sipping her juice and people watching as she waited for the owl post and her friends. She was expecting a letter or two from home. One from her parents and one from her little brother, it would be good to hear from them.
