((OOC: Captured from the IC box on July 31, 2015 and cleaned up just a bit (getting rid of time stamps, putting it in order, etc.) by Anne. I talked with Amber about this and we agreed the scene could have taken place in the Uni common room, so now it has. )
Hazel Franklin: *sits, sorting through photographs and putting them into an album*
Geordie Riddell: *sits next to Hazel* Hey stranger.
Hazel Franklin: *jumps a bit* *smiles slightly* Hi.
Geordie Riddell: *smiles* Hey. Sorry, didn't mean to startle you. Whatcha doin'?
Hazel Franklin: Just putting these away. *shows him the photos* If I don't get them all in the album right away, they just pile up.
Geordie Riddell: Oh? Whatcha got there? *looks at photos* Did you take these?
Hazel Franklin: Yes. *spreads out the photos a bit so he can see* It's mostly plants out on the grounds. *notices a photo that is NOT a plant and shifts it away*
Geordie Riddell: Hey wait a minute! What was that? *looks over her shoulder*
Hazel Franklin: *blushing, shifts the photo again so he can see it; it's a photo of Geordie* I took it the day you were playing on the hill...*is absolutely mortified*
Geordie Riddell: *studies the picture* Hey that's pretty good. Looks like you caught my good side *smirks* If I ever make an album I would totally use this as the cover *laughs*
Hazel Franklin: *nervously* Do you want it? It's just going to stay in my album otherwise, and it is a picture of you, so if you want it, you can have it.
Geordie Riddell: *raises eyebrows at her rush of words* I'd like a copy, yeah, but you need to keep the original. Add it to your portfolio that will make you famous one day *grins*
Hazel Franklin: Are you sure? I'm not going to do anything with it. I'm not planning on being a professional photographer.
Geordie Riddell: *shrugs* Even if you don't, I know a bunch of Muggle art galleries that would gladly host a showcase of your work. I mean, man. Just look at these! *whistles in appreciation*
Hazel Franklin: *blushing* Really? I've never thought about doing something like that.
Geordie Riddell: *smiles* Now why doesn't that surprise me? Yeah, the next time I leave Aurora I can take them to the gallery that Jilly puts her work up at. It wouldn't hurt for them to have a look, right?
Geordie Riddell: It may only be a hobby, but with talent like yours it should definitely be noticed.
Hazel Franklin: All right. I suppose it wouldn't hurt. Would you need me to do anything?
Geordie Riddell: I'm sure there would be some Muggle particulars to go over. I can get with Jilly and she can help explain the process to us, both of us, if you'd like. *not sure if Hazel would understand the concept of a Muggle cell phone contact number*
Hazel Franklin: Okay. I don't know much about Muggle things at all, I'm afraid. *suddenly realizes what her parents would think of this plan, bites lip but says nothing*
Geordie Riddell: *senses her unease* Hey, it's just an idea. No big deal. *leans back, relaxing*
Hazel Franklin: *chews on lip for a moment* Let me think about it. It does sound interesting, but...I don't know if I'd have time for it. *feels bad for lying, but isn't sure he'd understand about her parents' views on Muggles*
Geordie Riddell: *smiles* So how are classes going for ya?
Hazel Franklin: *relieved to be talking about classes* Fairly well. They're harder than academy classes, but I was expecting that. I think I'm going to enjoy Herbology the most. What about your classes? What are you taking this year?
Geordie Riddell: Mostly music classes, along with Charms, Transfig, and Muggle Studies My favorite is all the music classes, of course.
Hazel Franklin: Of course. *smiles*
Geordie Riddell: Have you had many classes with the new professors?
Hazel Franklin: *thinks hard* I have Professor Deverill for potions...He's new...Professor Faris is new for Astrology...I should remember who else is new this year but it's slipping my mind at the moment...*frowns in concentration*
Geordie Riddell: *nods* I'm already hearing that Deverill is a hard ass. I think he's scaring the younger kids. *laughs*
Hazel Franklin: I've heard a few stories about encounters with him. He's certainly very, very strict.
Geordie Riddell: Yeah, I can imagine. But I guess someone has to be in order to balance out Headmistress Merry's soft heart. *laughs*
Hazel Franklin: I suppose so. He expects a lot out of his students, certainly. I haven't met him outside of class to judge what he's like when he's not teaching.
Geordie Riddell: *nods* Yeah, me neither.
Hazel Franklin: We'll have to wait and see, I guess.
Hazel Franklin: *straightens her photos and tucks them inside the album* *stands* I'd better go back to my room. It's getting late and I have an early class tomorrow. I'll see you tomorrow. *smiles*
Geordie Riddell: Goodnight, Hazel. Sweet dreams.
Hazel Franklin: *sits, sorting through photographs and putting them into an album*
