Full Name: Nicholas William Sterling
Nicknames: Nick, Coach (old students still call him this)
Face Claim: open
Current Age: mid- to late 30s
Blood Status: Muggleborn.
Affiliation: OOTP, Neutral.
Occupation: ex-coach turned bartender
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Taken Status: Single
Wand: Calabash wood, core of pegasus feather, 11 inches long and swishy. Darkly colored and ornately carved
Broom: a late 1980s mode, Lightning Strikes, kept in good repair
Pets: Has a golden retriever named Molly and a Corgi named Thorgi (hey, he's still Muggleborn!)
Likes: Quidditch, beer, internet, movies, baseball
Dislikes: snobbery, indecisiveness, head games, drama, subways
Strengths: friendly, athletic, easygoing (usually), his charming manner earns him extra tips at the bar, honesty
Weaknesses: women, commitment, American cheeseburgers and hot dogs, Christmas (he's a sucker for it), television
Personality: Nick has always been an extremely open personality. His Muggle upbringing taught him to be an athletic individual, and his momma taught him to be a gentleman. So he's a man's man, but he also knows how to treat a lady. These days he's tending to stay away from steady relationships, but still keeps his eye open for someone to change that.
Father: William (Bill) Sterling, Muggle, 62, owns an athletic gear store
Mother: Helen, Muggle, 60, runs a bakery
Siblings: One younger sister named Mary Anne
History: Nick was raised Muggle by two Muggle parents. He grew up like any other Muggle boy would: sports in school, going to games and parties every weekend, dating the prettiest girls. The only difference for him is that he received a letter to Aurora Borealis Academy when he was 11 years old. His parents didn't know what to think. His dad was skeptical, but they looked into all that they could. Deciding to take the chance, and giving it until the year that he'd start high school, they let him go. He came home every summer, explaining to everyone that his parents were sending him to a religious boarding school to prep him for the ministry (he lived in a small religious town after all). That made girls want to eat him alive, and made their parents want to trust him with their life savings. Ultimately, Nick decided to stay at Aurora for university, much to his dad's disappointment. He'd always held out the hope that Nick would play professional sports- well he did, just a wizarding sport! Nick Sterling went on to play professional Quidditch until he slipped a disc in his back, thus ruining him from playing professionally every again. He stayed on at Aurora to coach for a few years, but has since moved to Snowy Vale, bartending at the Flying Solo pub and sowing wild oats.
Veritiserum: After he left his coaching job Nick seriously considered giving up the wizarding world for a more "normal" lifestyle, but after spending six months back home, helping his parents out, he knew he could never go back to such a mundane existence.
Patronus: a bear, and the thought that summons it is playing professional Quidditch before he was injured
If you decide to play Nick as a full-out character, you'll have to redo his profile in the new application style. If you have questions about his past, or any other kind of plot, then contact ~*~Amber~*~. He was a character brought back at the insistence of someone who is no longer on this site, so I'm placing up for grabs. He can also be used as an NPC. Physical description is open, as long as he's athletically built.
