(taken from old profile format; if you want this character you'll have to do it in the new format)
Full Name: Radhika (ROD-EE-KAH) Shakti Ramada
Nicknames: Radhi
Face Claim: Parminder Nagra (or any Indian girl, really)
Current Age: 27
Blood Status: Halfblood
Affiliation: good
Occupation: runs a coffee and tea shop in Snowy Vale called “The Spice Trade”
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Taken Status: Single
Wand: The wand is made of eucalyptus and has a core of unicorn hair. It is 13 and 1/4 inches long and is springy. It is lightly colored and is elegantly carved.
Broom: She has her trusty old Nimbus 2010 edition that she had when she played Quidditch for the Polera team at Aurora Borealis Academy.
Pets: She has a pet chinchilla named Chichi she keeps in the back of the tea shop
Likes: tea (obviously since she has a shop), using Charms for daily activities, Quidditch, animals, reading
Dislikes: Starbucks, her reading glasses, hot weather, snakes, loud people in her shop
Strengths: friendly, makes awesome concoctions of teas and coffees, her past with Aurora comes in handy, bilingual
Weaknesses: older, bookish men; reading a good book with hot tea; always wanting to make someone feel better even when they don’t want to talk; staying professional when Quidditch season hits
Personality: Radhika is a very friendly and kind person who isn’t openly social, but is always there when you need a friend. Otherwise she pretty much keeps to herself. When Quidditch season hits she’s like a different person; louder, wilder, and always with a smile on her face (if she’s not completely decked out in Polera House colors).
Father: Jaspal, 57, Muggle businessman
Mother: Sheba, 48, witch, OOTP.
Siblings: Two brothers, Jasvir and Vikram, who run their father’s business; and a younger sister, Priya who is currently being matched in an arranged marriage.
History: Radhika’s father never knew her mother was a witch, so it did come as an unwelcome surprise when the owls began to arrive. Jaspal was never a believer in magic, and still refuses to acknowledge any magical ability in anyone. Radhika’s mother has become accustomed to her husband’s behavior, but still uses her magic behind his back. Jasvir, Radhika’s older brother, is the only other child who received a Hogwarts letter, but being the eldest son, their father wouldn’t let him attend, instead forcing the family business upon him. Radhika’s mother intervened on her behalf when she got her letter. The only purpose for a girl in an Indian family is to be wed and join families with another who was prosperous. Her mother pointed out that being a witch would only make the family look bad, and that no one would want to marry her. Playing her father’s game, Radhika’s mother essentially saved her, but instead of Hogwarts, Sheba sent her daughter to Aurora Borealis in Canada. There, Radhika excelled at her studies, become prefect of the Polera House and also played as a Chaser for the Polera Quidditch team. She completed University, and entertained the thought of apprenticing under her Charms professor (whom she had a mad crush on), but let the chance pass her by when she got the news that her mother passed away. She went home only long enough to bury her mother, but returned to Snowy Vale instead of remaining home in India. Now she runs a tea and coffee shop, and in the corner one can find a candle shrine that Radhika lights every night in memory of her mother.
Veritiserum: She wishes everyday that her mother had come with her to Canada, and believes she would still be alive today if she had.
Patronus: a chinkara, and her mother’s whispered words “I am so proud of you. Never let them change you.”
Boggart: her father, a representation of everything she wants to run away from
Notes: This character was brought in at another player's insistence, who has left the site. Radhika has a tea shop and can be played as an NPC or fleshed out as a full-out character. If you have questions about her past (like her school years) or would like to discuss anything, please contact ~*~Amber~*~ .
