Points Earned or Taken Away by Professors: left up to the professor
Any additional points given or taken away by professors must be recorded in tally threads in order to count. Please make sure to tell us how many points were involved, which student and which house, and why the points were given/taken.
As well as any points earned or taken away in the classroom, professors can also award or take away points based on conduct anywhere around the school IF THEY ARE PRESENT. (This means a professor cannot take away points for a fight in the hallway if there are none around in the hallway thread.) Likewise for Heads of Houses. They can award/take away points for conduct in their own House. Other school staff members (librarian, nurse, groundskeeper) may notify a student's Head of House regarding conduct. Anything that may happen in Snowy Vale (say breaking an item, or stopping a thief) can earn a student House Points *IF* the Snowy Vale shop owner (if they have a character) notifies the Headmaster of the student's deed. Heads of Houses, professors, Head Boy/Girl, and the Headmaster are the only ones allowed to assign detention or punishment.
-Prefects can award/take away up to 10 points. CANNOT assign detention. Pass the buck to Head Boy/Girl or Head of House for more.
-Head Boy/Girl can award/take away up to 20 points. They CAN assign detention. Anymore more severe (like thread of suspension or expulsion) to be taken to Head of House.
-HEADS of HOUSES - please post your awarded/taken away points here. If a recurring matter makes you think of suspension or expulsion, please discuss this matter with the Headmaster.
