So, I didn't want to lump this in with my suggestion in the suggestions box, hence a separate post. These are just some comments of things I noticed/asked myself as a total newbie here on the site - and having not done any of this for years.
First of all, the helpful links section in the left column doesn't work for me. The text (like Rules) isn't a click-able link. Don't know if it's just me or a general thing, but I thought I'd mention it.
And then I had some questions that might occur to other newbies as well - maybe having them and the answers in a FAQ thread would be nice.
1. Can you post in the class threads before your class sign up is approved? How often do new lessons start (once a month, more often, less often, depends on the professor)?
2. Are there IC rules the students have to comply with (like a curfew, or not being allowed a broom as a first year, or only getting an owl, cat or rat as a pet?)
3. Are students of all ages allowed to visit Snowy Vale? All the time, only on weekends, or only on certain weekends?
4. Since we're in Canada, I'm assuming Canada has its own magical areas. Is Snowy Vale like Hogsmeade or more like Diagon Alley?
5. Are there any places already named - even if they're not separate boards/locations we can play? I mean, does the Canadian version of Diagon Alley or St. Mungo's or Azkaban have a name that everyone can use in their posts? Because that would help the...cohesion (if that's the right word) of the separate threads on the board.
6. Are there any rules for how many characters you can play at the same time? Are there any rules for how many threads you can have going at the same time?
7. What are the rules about roleplaying NPCs - like for instance a parent that accompanies you when visiting a store in the summer holidays - in your own posts?
So, that's the questions I have right now. Which are partly based on my previous experience and partly based on my incessant need to know all the details. I hope you guys don't mind.
